I hate Daylight Savings Time. Whoever invented it (I’m looking at you Benjamin Franklin) did not have small children. Spring Forward, of course, is the worst. But Fall Back isn’t exactly a piece of cake either when your son has an internal clock that is as reliable as Big Ben.
Since we live in the northern United States, getting an extra hour of daylight in the evening just means it’s that much harder to get the kids to go to sleep. In the summer, the sun doesn’t go down until after 9 p.m. In England, where my husband is from, I remember talking walks around 10 p.m. when it was still light outside. Who needs that much daylight anyway?
Why can politicans do something useful and helpful, like introduce a bill to eliminate Daylight Savings Time? Finally, that’s a government policy I could get behind.
